According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry there are currently 47,662 existing brands in the country.
"Applications and procedures for registration of a trademark also reported an increase of 17.2%.
Of the 11,226 trademark applications that were filed in 2011, there were 9,287 approved. The total number of trademarks registered in the official entity is 47,662", reported Prensa.com.
