Up to October, new projects submitted exceeded both in number and amount of investment to those recorded in 2010.
Of the new developments, 66% will be built in the Province of Panama, and the rest in the provinces of Chiriqui and Colon.
Alex E. Hernandez writes in Prensa.com, "The most representative projects are the Ramada, the Farallon Beach Resort and the Hyatt Place Panama, according to the records of the management of tourism enterprises in the ATP.
In total, 33 projects will add 812 new rooms to the market and is estimated to generate 559 employment positions. "
According to the ATP’s records, in the same period 17 new travel agencies have formed.

The Government is looking at unifying into a single tender the building of a new convention center and cruise ship dock in Amador.
According to the manager of the Tourism Authority, Solomon Shamah, it would speed up the projects and lower costs.

The company has announced its withdrawal from the Peninsula Papagayo tourism project in the Guanacaste Province.
The company owned a "minority share" of the project.

Private investors are working on a US$300 million project to turn Lake Ilopango into a top tourist destination.
The project would include construction of El Salvador's first five-star lakeside hotel, with 285 rooms, as well as luxury condos with swimming pools, a spa and shopping mall.
