This initiative is part of a wider project called “Casa para Todos” (Housing for All), launched last year.
Companies are bidding for constructing the first phase, which includes 499 residences in 8 modules containing 38 to 40 units each. The winning company will be announced next week.

In September, the Housing Ministry of El Salvador will invite bids for the construction of 2.200 homes.
This process is a part of the "Casa para Todos" (Housing for Everyone) project, which aims to build 9.561 homes in 18 months.
Edín de Jesús Martínez, head of the ministry, told Laprensagrafica.com that "works is ahead of schedule, and home builders are already inquiring on the requirements they must fulfill to participate in the competition".

BCIE and IDB funds will finance the "Casa para Todos" (Housing for Everyone) program.
The $ 70 million Inter-American Development Bank loan will go to build 6.373 homes for low-income families, of which 2.000 would be ready by March 2011.
