Thursday, November 24, 2011

With a huge investment, the Honduran government will implement a plan to improve the power distribution network in the country, which for years has caused problems due to its deteriorated condition.

The company in charge of repairs is the state-owned National Electricity Company (ENEE), which will build 1,000 kilometers of transmission lines and 16 substations.

In an article in EFE, ENEE manager Roberto Martinez said, "14 of the 54 existing substations will be improved, and we will attack the problem of large scale non-technical losses, eliminating them and the alarming systematic theft of power, a determining factor in the ENEE’s critical financial situation.
