Exporters of coffee, jams, frozen goods and palms, among others, participated in the Anuga international trade fair for food and beverages 2011, which brought together buyers and sellers from around the world.
The participation of several Guatemalan companies has already paid off, as some of the 161 buyers attending the event have closed business deals.
These include companies from countries such as Germany, Finland and the Middle East.
According to an article in Prensalibre.com: "The Guatemalan Exporters Association headed the country's pavilion at the fair in Koln Messe, Cologne, Germany, in which 97 countries participated."

Some 145 Salvadoran companies will participate this year in international fairs, particularly those related to the food and beverage sector.
Some 145 firms, mostly medium and small sized, will participate in trade fairs in Germany, Colombia, Taiwan and Panama, among other countries, and it is expected that deals will be made worth around $30 million.
