Actex Upgrades its Production Facility

The Guatemalan clothing label manufacturer will invest $500.000 in machinery and equipment, and will hire an additional 50 to 80 employees.

This investment by 'Accesorios Textiles' (Actex), is geared to serve an agreement signed with textile company Denimatrix. For it, Actex will produce identification labels for Denimatrix's jean production.

"Sergio de la Torre, Actex president, explained that each jean needs 3-4 labels. Accordingly, they must supply Denimatrix some 2 million ids each month, and for this they will hire 50 to 80 employees in addition to their current workforce of 180", reported Sigloxxi.com.

Guatemalan Textile Companies Form Alliance

Denimatrix announced an alliance with "Accesorios Textiles" (Textile Accesories), the country's largest label producer.

'Accesorios Textiles' will supply labels for Denimatrix's jeans. The latter, formerly known as Koramsa, manufactures 120.000 jeans each week, for renowned brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, GAP, Rock & Republic and Buckle.

Textile Company Invests $21 Million in Nicaragua

“GD Maquilador de Nicaragua”, an apparel company owned by Mexican group Denim, opened its manufacturing facility today.

It is located at Km 14.1 of the North Highway in Managua, and employs 800 workers. The company expects to increase its payroll to 3.000 by the end of the year.

Textile Company to Invest $25 Million in Nicaragua

The South Korean textile company Hansae Nicaragua S.A will be investing between 2011 and 2013 in order to expand its industrial park situated in Masaya.

The works for expanding the industrial plant by 60,000 square foot will be carried out in two stages, with the first stage starting in December.

Free Trade spurs sales of Accesorios Textiles S.A.

June 2008

Accesorios Textiles S.A. invested 1.5 million dollars to provide labos to manufacturers of garments sold in the United States under the free trade agreement.

This Guatemala company is an example of the multiplier effect of free trade. Since the middle of 2006, when the agreement went into effect, it has invested more than 1.5 million dollars to buy machinery, expand facilities, and hire personnel to diversify its production.
