As of February 29th , 2012, the Bolivian airline Aerosur will start operating a route from Santa Cruz to Panama.
Hugo Diaz, Aerosur’s commercial manager, said that with this frequency, passengers from Panama will be able to connect to Salta in Argentina, and Cuzco, Peru. The airline will start with 3 weekly frequencies.
"Diaz said they chose Panama as a new destination because of its economic development and it has a hub for the Americas operating out of Tocumen airport. Panama is also an excellent destination for Bolivians as it has beautiful beaches in both oceans and is a first class shopping destination", reported Capital.com.pa.

According to a report from Lainformacion.com, the El Salvador - Spain route will begin on 1 October with prices starting at $954. Meanwhile, prices for the Panama to Madrid flight start at $984.

The Bolivian government authorized Copa Airlines to operate the route between Panama City and Santa Cruz with a frequency of four flights per week.
The website Americaeconomica.com published, "Copa Airlines, which will have its headquarters in Santa Cruz, will operate the route with Boeing 737-700 aircraft that have a capacity for 124 passengers.
