Its first facility would be inaugurated on November 10th, after a $500.000 investment.

This was informed by Elías Caparrós, trade adviser at the Mexican Embassy in Guatemala. He also commented that "there are currently 80 Mexican companies operating in the country, who have invested $2.5 billion from 1999 to 2008".

Telecommunications Cable Plant Inaugurated

With an investment of $35 million, the company Panduit, dedicated to the production of copper wire and fiber optics, has opened its second manufacturing plant in Costa Rica.

The 14,000 square meter plant manufactures industrial plastic cables. Located in Argentina, Grecia, it will provide jobs for 500 people in addition to the 850 already working in the other plant.

Costa Rica: ICE Launches Tender for $ 1.1 Million in Materials

Within the materials requested are: 10.000 m Lined Copper Cable 2 / 0, 10.000 meters Lined Copper Cable 4 / 0, 2.000 meters Nude Copper Cable 2 / 0, among other items.

The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) is putting out to tender the purchase of various materials for a total of $2,734,686.

According to the specification the tender is for the acquisition of freestanding poles, cables, struts, arms, rings and anchor rods.
