BAC Honduras Invests in Full ATMs

The bank will inaugurate its new ATM service after investing $1.7 million.

24 new ATMs will be opened in San Pedro Sula, Puerto Cortés and El Progreso. An additional 10 will be opened in a second phase.

“The service is very practical; the machine offers a detailed menu of the possibilities offered to the user. BAC will launch an informational campaign with manuals for its clients”.

BAC Credomatic Panama Launches New Full ATM

The company unveiled its new Automatic Teller Machine, available in 25 locations.

This new ATM lets clients pay credit cards, make deposits and transfer funds between pre registered BAC accounts. $1.5 million were invested in this project.

Bac-Bamer authorized to increase its capital base

The National Commission of Banking and Insurance in Honduras has authorized Banco America Central (Bac-Bamer) to increase its capital base from 95.4 milion dollars to 132.3 million.

Bac-Bamer manager Jacobo Atala says the increase in capital is based on a study. The bank needs a larger capital base, even though it's already the largest financial system in the nation.

Honduras: New BAC/BAMER service

BAC/BAMER Bank will launch a new service today that will allow Hondurans working abroad, especially those in the United States, to send remittances to family members at home.

Some of the main benefits of this service are that remittances send via BAC/BAMER will be received the same day they are sent, there is no fee to receive the money, they are paid in cash, the bank can pay the receiver's credit card or loan, or they can be deposited in a bank account (no matter at which it is located).

Private banking in Honduras surpasses $10.7 billion in assets

Private banking in Honduras completed the first semester of 2008 with assets worth $10.74 billion, with first place going to the recently merged BAC-Bamer Bank.

This was revealed in the June report of the National Committee of Banks and Insurance (CNBS) which gathers information for the Financial Institution Supervision System.
