Bimbo Launches New Products in Panama

Mexican corporation 'Grupo Bimbo' launched two new breads exclusively for the Panamanian market.

They are completely produced in Panama, and the idea is to market them abroad in the medium term, remarked Claudia Montiel, brand chief at "Grupo Bimbo".

They are "raisin bread and butter bread, two flavors highly demanded in the local market. They were not part of the company's 5.000 product portfolio", reports local newspaper La Estrella.

The multinational company will inaugurate in January its new crackers production line.

Felipe González, production manager at the new Chimaltenango plant, reported that exports to the Dominican market will begin on the same date, and that 54 new jobs will be created.

"Currently, the plant outputs 2.500 monthly tons of various products like breads, cookies and cupcakes, which represent 2.344 exported containers each year", reported local newspaper Prensa Libre.
