Buddha Bar Hotel Cancels Project in Panama

The company had previously announced it would build a luxurious hotel in Crystal Suites, Vía Brazil, but now informed it has canceled the project.

Buddha Bar Rental Management S.A. and Realtor Zebal S.A. reported the National Securities Commisison (CNV) that they had cancelled the contracts for buying lots for the project.

Prensa.com tried to find out more as to why the initiative was cancelled, but the spokespersons of the project in Panama refused to comment. Similarly, Crystal Suites representatives stated they could not refer to the project.

Construction of the luxury hotel is estimated at $40 million and it will begin in June of this year, with an estimated completion in 2010.

The pre-construction of the building, which will feature 90 suites, three restaurants and a spa center, has already begun. However, the official inauguration of the project will take place in June of this year.

The Nations Hotel, designed by Musa Asvat, will be 26 floors high and will be located between Street 51 and Street 50.

It will be marketed as a condo-hotel with prices starting at 139,000 dollars. Construction is slated to start in November or December and the Hotel should open its doors in 2001.

Jumeirah Will Administer Hotel in Panama

Hotel managing company Jumeirah, based in Dubai, will administer a hotel located in the main tower of project 'Los Faros'.

The agreement was signed by Julio Noval García, president of project developer Grupo Mall, and Gerald Lawless, president of Jumeirah Group.

"Hotel Jumeirah Los Faros de Panamá will feature 400 luxury rooms and suits, a Talise spa, sporting and recreational facilities, and 3.000 square meters with conference and meeting rooms", reported Laestrella.com.pa.

New Marriott Resort in Panama

July 2011

Situated on the Pacific, 55 kilometers from Panama City, will be the new Panama Marriott Resort Casamar, a 5 star hotel with 180 rooms in several interconnected buildings.

Marriott Hotels & Resorts have announced plans to develop a 180-room hotel in the resort community Casamar on the Pacific coast of Panama.
