From February 16th to March 18th, CentralAmericaData.COM, the region’s bilingual business website, was visited by 194.000 people, who read more than half a million pages, satisfying their needs for business, economics and finance information on Central America. These numbers are endorsed by the objectivity of Google and Quantcast, a renowned online media measurement agency.

CentralAmericaData.COM was launched on May 2008, and before a year and a half it become the regional leader in audience in a very particular niche, one where users demand high quality and timing when consuming information.

This website is not mass media. It does not publish sports or lifestyle news. Nor does it include politics, except for those closely related to businesses or economics. This makes its success even more impressive.

Such success is based on two pillars.

The first is its editorial concept, which sees Central America as one single economic unit with 40 million inhabitants. This is how it is seen by businessmen, especially those outside Central America, as opposed to a series of different countries. Such concept is what businessmen require, as evidenced by its steady growth in readership and pages viewed.
The Central American Business Network is part of this concept, as it is the best expression of regional B2B.

The second pillar, and perhaps the most important due to its scarcity on the world stage, is its technology. CentralAmericaData.COM is a state of the art expression of information management trends, in line with prestigious websites such as The New York Times, The Huffington Post or Argentina’s Nación. This unique information management model has artificial intelligence bases, which allows for powerful interrelationships between its stored information, offering the reader not only the data it needs, but also additional info it doesn’t know it needs.

This can be observed in the dynamic topic menu included in its pages, which is updated to the context of the information read by the user. One of CentralAmericaData regular readers said: it’s sometimes scary, it seems the website does the thinking for me…
