Companies Interested in Airport Construction

Over 30 companies participated in the act of approval for the construction of the Aerodrome in Rio Hato, Panama.

The granting of approval of the project specifications took place this week, where the characteristics of the aerodrome to be built in Rio Hato were presented.

This event occurred despite the fact that the results of the feasibility study requested the Andean Development Corporation are not yet known. The study will determine if the site selected by the government is the most suitable for the construction of the airfield, which will cater to 300 passengers .

An article in Prensa.com notes: "the Civil Aviation Authority has estimated the costs of the terminal which will handle 300 passengers, at $16.3 million. The whole project will cost more, as it will include reconstruction of the runway and the building of a tunnel which the Interamericana highway will pass through, projects being tendered by the Ministry of Public Works. The projected time for building the airport is one year and two months. "

Meco Construction Company to Build Rio Hato

The company funded with Costa Rican capital has won the tender issued by the Panamanian Civil Aviation Authority for the construction of the Scarlett Martinez airport passenger terminal.

The company Meco, one of four who submitted proposals, was the only one that met all the requirements in the statement of specifications.

Rio Hato Airport for $52 million

The Panamanian government has established reference prices and details for two tenders.

One is for the construction of the airport ($16.3 million) and the other, which has already been tendered, for access infrastructure ($ 36.2 million).
