Corporate Spokespeople are Key Figures in Business

They represent the essence of organizations, and are the link between them and the public interest.

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

In the corporate world where information flows faster every day and through hundreds of channels, control of external communication has become a key element for organizations.

In this context corporate spokespeople, who are usually managers, directors and other strategic business partners, are responsible for disseminating and properly controlling the message that businesses want to expound to their customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Gustavo Manrique Salas, a consultant, explains in his article for Prensa.com: "These leaders represent their organization to the audience, they embody a vision, a particular way of doing things and are committed to certain values that must integrate business objectives with progress and collective well being.

This commitment must be real and honest. The speakers and the organizations they represent should have the maturity to act in a transparent manner and grow from a solid platform, supported by three pillars: 1 .- the company culture refers to the way it does business and the criteria on which they base their supply. 2 .- The market, which enjoys the products and services offered. 3 .- The company, which is attentive to the coherence between what the company says it is, and what it does and how.
