Monday, November 14, 2011

QSR International, which operates Quizno's in the country, has added fast-food chain Smashburger to its portfolio with three locations opening in 2012.

Meanwhile Subway, which has already opened three new outlets this year, plans to open three more by December. With these new openings, its chain of premises now outnumbers the 40 owned by McDonalds.

"... Be Ca Costa Rica, which operates Burger King among other franchises, is to remodel its restaurants in line with the launch of its new image. It will include a refill on soft drinks, which up until now has not been provided in its outlets. Gabriela Cordero, marketing manager of the company, said the franchise will open its 34th restaurant in December - located in central Alajuela - and by 2012, the first so-called Whopper Bar will be opened", reported Elfinancierocr.com.
