A press release by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) reads:
IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno today signed agreements for two projects run by the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) to the amount of U.S. $2 million to improve the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises in the Huétar North region and expand rural credit services in the South Central region.
The agreement was signed by Bladimir Arroyo Rojas, president of the Agency for Regional Development of Huétar, and Jerome Hernandez Alpizar, President of the Board of the Integrated Foundation for Rural Central Pacific Development (FIDERPAC). The event was held as part of the opening of the XIV Forum on Microenterprises (Foromic) taking place in San José, Costa Rica from 10 to 12 October.
The North Huetar project is for an amount close to U.S. $1 million grants in non refundable resources with a local counterpart of U.S. $ 422.000. The project for the South Central region is also an amount of U.S. $1 million, of which U.S. $750.000 are reimbursable through financing with the Social Entrepreneurship Program of the IDB with a local counterpart of U.S. $375.000.
