"Dr. Simi" goes for the Guatemalan market.

This business story started on a spring night in Mexico. Customers were enjoying a seafood platter covered with red wine in the French restaurant at the luxurious Intercontinental Presidential Hotel. Two of them could not be overlooked by the rest of the customers. The man, an eccentric and polemic millionaire; the woman, a global symbol, distinguished by her fight in favor of indigenous people. The conversation centered around the man's pharmaceutical business. He casually asked, "Why don't you take the pharmacies to Guatemala?" The woman's eyes lit up with emotion. Months later, in November 2003, Víctor González Torres, the businessman in this story, and Rigoberta Menchú Tum, 1992 Nobel Peace Prize winner, saw their talk from that night become reality when the first Similares Pharmacy was open in Guatemala.
