Draft Law on Exports Ready

The Nicaraguan National Assembly could be receiving a draft Law on the Promotion of Exports next week.

This was announced by Jose Adan Aguirre, president of the Superior Council for Private Enterprise of COSEP, who noted that the project aims to streamline procedures for exports and reduce trade barriers on all products the country exports.

"The bill is being pushed by organizations like the National Livestock Commission, the Chamber of the Milk Producers, the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua, APEN, and the National Union of Farmers and Ranchers, UNAG.

The general manager of APEN, Azucena Castillo, said that by way of this initiative they hope to make the trend of export growth a reality", reported Elnuevodiario.com.ni.

The revival in cotton growing has been confirmed with financing by a Brazilian investment group.

Aguerri Adam Joseph, president of COSEP confirmed that cotton production this year will be reactivated with the support of Brazilian investors, attracted by the office of ProNicaragua, an organization that is dedicated to the promotion of foreign investment.
