Guatemalan Drug Store Chain Enters Salvadoran Market

Grupo Pharma, through its 'Community Pharmacy' brand, has opened its first 15 branches in El Salvador.

Grupo Farmacéutico, S.A. de C.V., the group's representative in El Salvador, plans to open 200 drug stores, which will also operate as mini Banco Industrial branches.

"Grupo Pharma's growth plans point to North America. Luna del Pinal commented that Industrias Bioquímicas, S.A. expects to begin exporting 14 new pharmaceutical products to the USA and Mexico from October," reports Elperiodico.com.gt.

Guatemala’s “Grupo Pharma” to Invest in Mexico

The pharmaceutical consortium will install a $25 million lab in the Mexican state of Chiapas.

The facility is expected to employ 180 workers in its first year of operation, growing to 300 over the next four years.

“Some 300 generic medicines will be elaborated in Grupo Pharma’s laboratory in Chiapas. The company also plans to open 400 drug stores in the southern states of Mexico”, reported Terra.com.

Interceramic to open stories in Panama and Guatemala

Interceramic, a leading Mexican manufacturer of tiles and flooring, is to open a store in Panama in July and another in Guatemala the following month.

The company, which distributes some 38 million square meters a year of flooring in Mexico and the United States, aims to put its products on sale throughout Central America.
