El Salvador: Astaldi Will Build Two Bridges

The Italian company will build two bridges over the Lempa River, with a total cost of $24.85 million.

These bridges are part of the CLN highway (“Carretera Lngitudinal del Norte”), and will be located in “Nuevo Edén de San Juan” and in “Nombre de Jesús”.

Works are scheduled to begin on the third week of March.

The bridge in “Nuevo Edén de San Juan” will be 330 meters long, and will be ready by March 2012. The one in “Nombre de Jesús” will link Chalatenango and Cabañas, will be 180 meters long, and should be ready by November 2011.

El Salvador: Companies Bid for Bridge Over Lempa River

Two companies, FCI Mexpresa and Astaldi Spa, submitted bids to build two bridges over the Lempa River.

FCI-Mexpresa submitted a $41.80 million bid to construct the bridges, while Astaldi proposed $24.85 million.

Both bridges will connect the Northern Longitudinal Highway (CLN). They are located in Nuevo Edén de San Juan and in Nombre de Jesús.

Tender for Road in North Eastern El Salvador

Fomilienio expects to tender the first section of the Northern Longitudinal Road in the country’s eastern half.

Specifically, the section that is being designed for tender is the one that runs from Nuevo Edén de San Juan to Gotera.

In an article in laprensagrafica.com, José Ángel Quirós, executive director of Fomilenio, also indicated that the 7 kilometers from Santa Rosa to Guachipelín Matazano will be tendered at the end of May, and that later this year, it expects to launch and award the 2 bridges over the Lempa River: “The 150 meter long En Nombre de Jesús, Sensuntepeque bridge, and the 250 meter long Nuevo Edén de San Juan bridge, in San Miguel."

Offers in for Final Stretch of "Longitudinal del Norte" Highway

Six companies have bid to construct Section 3B of the Salvadoran highway that traverses the north of the country.

The participating companies presented offers of between $20 and $31 million include Astaldi, FCC Cosntrucciones, Constructora Santa Fé and Equipos de Construcción.

El Salvador: $14 Million for Northern Highway

A new stretch of the 'Longitudinal del Norte' highway, dubbed '2B1', will be developed by builder Santa Fe Ltda., and finished October 2010.

It runs from Santa Rosa Guachipilín, in Santa Ana, to El Matazano in Chalatenango, extending over 7.8 km, with 2 lanes of 3.25 meters each.
