El Salvador: Legal Situation Report

The Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development, Fusades, has presented a report entitled "Legal and Institutional Situation" for the second half of 2011.

The Department of Legal Studies, DEL, this morning released the Report of Legal and Institutional Situation of the second half of 2011, by which the legal and institutional activity in the country is systematically tracked. The report aims to contribute to the national discussion with new inputs to make public policies better, improving the business climate and strengthening democratic institutions.

This document is based on collecting and monitoring information from different reliable sources, both external and internal, and has been developed in 4 strategic areas: Rule of Law and Institutions, Security and Civil Law, Business Climate and Trade Law, and Transparency.

The presentation of the results of the report was given by Mr. Javier Castro De Leon, Director of the Department of Legal Studies, Dr. Lilliam Carsana Arrieta, CEO, Mr. Rene Armando Abrego Labbé, Coordinator of Democratic Institutions; and Lic. Marjorie Chavez, Coordinator of the Commercial and International.
