In order to standardize the quality of the products that Salvadorans buy and adapt to international standards, the Legislature has approved the "Law for the creation of a Salvadoran Quality System."
When it comes into effect, a period of six months will be given to businesses and the government to take the necessary measures to comply with the new standards.
An article in elmundo.com.sv states: "ARENA tried to make some changes, introducing the National Quality Council, the governing body of the law, to representatives of the Chamber of Agriculture, Industrialists and the Export sector, but did not receive any votes.
The attributes of this law include formulating a national quality policy, appointing a technical committee to propose regulations to the Presidency of the Republic and promoting actions that will improve quality.
According to deputy CD, Douglas Avilés, with the approval of this law, the country will have access to funds offered by the European Union, to improve product quality. "

The European Union and Salvadoran government have joined forces to set up a National Quality System.
The aim is to implement a system that guarantees the quality of products manufactured in El Salvador through a law to be approved by the Legislative Assembly.

The National Quality System Law that was recently approved by Congress strengthens companies in the area of certification.
