El Salvador: $ 15 Million for Housing Loans

Multi-sector Investment Bank (BMI) has launched a line of credit for home purchase or remodeling.

Funding is through financial intermediaries (commercial banks or credit unions).

Ricardo Vega, BMI official said the new credit line aims to address two different niches.

"The first is for the house loan up to $ 28.500 a fixed interest rate of 5% for 24 months and for a period for 25 years. The second niche targeted is for homes above the $ 28.500 with a rate of 5.25 %," published Prensagrafica.com.
