El Salvador's logistics sector employs 27,000

The logistics sector in El Salvador is one of the most dynamic in the economy, and grew by 7.67 percent between January and March.

Indicators such as the Volume of Economic Activity show that the most active areas are in transport, storage and communications.
Even more impressive is the fact that the social services institute reports growth of 21.1 percent in this sector during the first quarter of the year.
The nation's central bank estimates that logistics account for about 9.6 percent of total Gross Domestic Product.

The National Port Company confirmed that operations and services continue at the national level and especially at Puerto Cortés.

The superintendent of the port, Roberto Javier Chacón, reported that maritime operations at the ports continue normally, guaranteeing all services in its installations.
