The latest in packaging and processing will be showcased at EXPO PACK Mexico 2010 and PROCESA 2010, to take place in Mexico from June 22 to 25.

The two simultaneous events will be attended by 25,000 buyers from over 25 countries, as well as packaging professionals from all major Mexican States, and delegations from Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Honduras.

Attendees include packaging and processing professionals from a wide range of industries, including food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care, graphic arts, medical, chemical and automotive.

Mexican Trade Mission Visits Guatemala

Representatives from 16 companies from the Mexican state of Puebla will visit the country between October 5th and 7th.

The mission is composed by companies from various sectors, such as foods, technology, industry, machinery, surgical medical equipment, jewelry, electronics and furniture.

At the show held in Guatemala, 72 Central American companies took part as well as 24 from Europe and 303 business meetings were held.

The European companies attending were from the textile, crafts and processed food sectors.

"According to the statistics, 303 meetings were held relating to deals such as organic coffee exports to France, Tillandsia (Bromeliad air plants) and aromatic candles.

Package-Manufacturing Plant Closes in Panama

Due to massive packaging imports from Colombia and Peru, Celloprint, a Panamanian plastic package-manufacturing plant, closed operations.

The company had been trying to save its operations for more than two years, struggling to curb imports of the product from Colombia and Peru.

Chapin and Central American Fair in Los Angeles
