GE needed to hire between 1.000 and 1.500 IT technicians and engineers for this initiative, and will move it to Chile instead.

"GE sources assured they couldn't be sure they would have the required personnel, even with a three-year window and reducing the number of English-speaking engineers to 50%", reported Prensa.com.

Costa Rica: $20 Million for Yellow Pages

Racsa will offer its yellow pages information service via text messaging.

The project is jointly developed by state-owned
telecommunications companies Racsa and ICE.

Óscar Chacón, who heads the yellow pages project, told Prensalibre.cr: "ICE will develop the database infrastructure and Racsa will develop the required applications".

International Software Forum in El Salvador
