Grupo Rey Acquires Panamanian Pharmacy Chains

Grupo Rey has completed the acquisition of the operations of the Metro and Econo pharmacy chains.

The transaction includes the purchase of all of the shares of Empresas Metro S.A. , owner of both chains.

Without disclosing the total amount of the transaction, Nicholas Psychoyos, president of Grupo Rey, said the purchase was made through an exchange of shares and partly in cash.

"With this acquisition, Grupo Rey will manage five retail chains: Supermercados Rey, Mr. Precio, Supermercados Romero, Farmacias Metro y Econo Farmacias", reported Prensa.com
