Guatemala: Best Exporter Award 2009

Bimbo de Centroamérica S.A. was recognized as the Best Exporter of the Year by Agexport.

Agexport, the Guatemalan Exporters Association, awarded various companies in different categories.

Local newspaper El Periodico lists the winners: Tecojate S.A. won the Agriculture Exporter award, Genesis Partnership Company won best Manufacture Exporter, Transactel won in Services, and the Productivity award was given to Paul Ecke Guatemala.

Panifresh has received the award for ‘Best Exporter of the Year’ from the Guatemalan Exporters Association (Agexport).

Under the ‘Agricultural Exporter’ category the award went to the El Injerto’ Farm, exporter of one of the best coffees in the world.

Other companies who received awards include, Ixpanpajul National Park Service, Service Exporter and Business Community Forest (Forescom), and the Exporter of Business Chains (Exportador de Encadenamiento Empresarial).

Bimbo Invests $3 Million in Guatemala

The multinational company will inaugurate in January its new crackers production line.

Felipe González, production manager at the new Chimaltenango plant, reported that exports to the Dominican market will begin on the same date, and that 54 new jobs will be created.

"Currently, the plant outputs 2.500 monthly tons of various products like breads, cookies and cupcakes, which represent 2.344 exported containers each year", reported local newspaper Prensa Libre.

Guatemala: Prize Awarded for 'Exportador 2010'

The agricultural company Agropecuaria Popoyán was given the award for 2010's "best exporter of the year".

Agropecuaria Popoyán specializes in growing and exporting fruit and vegetables cultivated in greenhouses and certified according to the ISO 9001-2000 standard.

Guatemalan Exporters’ Association (AGEXPORT) made awards in five categories: New Exporter, Rural Agricultural Collaboration, Manufacturing, Services and Exporter of the Year.

Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica hands out awards

The awards recognize the efforts of persons and companies that have contributed to the development of commerce in Costa Rica through their efforts.

104 candidates were nominated in accordance with the criteria established by rules commission. The Fenacae (National Chamber of Commerce Federation of Business Association Award) was also given out at the same time. This is based on the their accomplishments during their membership.
