Those are some of the conclusions from a report called Analysis of Investment Policy requested to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) by the Guatemalan government.
Factors which adversely affect the country's ability to attract direct foreign investment (FDI), the report mentions income disparities, violence, poor education and deficient health coverage.
In an article by Moses Uriah, Prensalibre.com quotes Gamarro Massimo Meloni, Project Coordinator, as stating, "We must strengthen the various government agencies in order to improve social indicators, this will allow for better investments."
