Guatemala’s Panifresh Enlarges Manufacturing Plant

The company will invest $2 million to double its hamburger bun production capacity.

Juan Carlos Paiz, founder and CEO of Panifresh, remarked the company will continue with its expansion plans in South America, especially in Colombia and Peru.

Sigloxxi.com reports: “Panifresh produces 50 thousand bread units per hour. This includes 12.000 English muffin units an hour, and 18.000 hamburger buns. In 2011, the company will invest $2 million to double its bun production capacity”.

Without giving exact figures, Antonio Caicedo, vice president for Central America and the Caribbean, announced the investment. As part of its expansion plan the company has acquired land near the plant currently operating in Sito del Niño, San Juan Opico.

Nicaragua: Increased Investment in Automotive Sector

At the Investment Forum "Grow Together", the automobile company Arnecorn announced the transfer of its a warehouse in Monterrey to Leon in Nicaragua.

Jose Saldivar Gonzales, operations manager at Arnecom, said the transfer decision was based on the prevailing good investment climate in Nicaragua.
