Guatemala's manufacturing exports grow

Foreign sales of manufactured products during the first four months of this year grew by 22 percent compared with the same period last year.

Max Staebler, president of the Manufacturing Commission, said that in the first four months of 2008 the main products exported were plastics, shoes, refrigerators, and handicrafts.
Total export sales from manufacturing were 875 million dollars, up by 150 million dollars from 2007.

In the first half of the year, industrial manufacturing production increased by up to 12%.

According to data from the Comptroller General the largest increase was in the processing of food products, including meat, dairy, tomato, sugar and salt, with an average 12.6% rise.

Nicaragua reports higher exports

Exports from Nicaragua have increased by 30.5 percent during the first half of 2008, compared with the same period a year earlier.

The January-June exports totalled 835.3 million dollars, up from 640.6 million dollars in the first half of 2007, according to a report issued by the Center for Processing Exports (CETREX) in its preliminary monthly report.

Nicaragua Exports up 34.17%

Nicaragua's exports for the first eight months of 2008 were 34.17% higher than last year.

This is explained by the well reception of coffee, lobster, fish, sheep meat, raw gold and other products in the international market, an government source informed.
The government's Centro de Trámites de Exportaciones stated that exports from January to August 2008 were valued at $1.146 million.
