Honduran Coffee Exports Increase by 51%

Honduras and Mexico, were the only two Latin American countries reporting increases exceeding 50% in the first quarter of the current crop.

The combined exports of the nine Latin American countries (except Brazil): Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and the Dominican Republic) totaled 5,407,017 bags of 60 kilos, between October and December last year, according data from the National Coffee Association of Guatemala (Anacafe).

"As for individual country’s exports during the same period, Mexico had an increase of 52.16%, followed by Honduras, whose exports grew by 51.22% Costa Rica by 16.74%, and Guatemala 16.62%.

Meanwhile, Colombia’s foreign sales fell during that period by 13.05%, El Salvador 24.70%, Nicaragua 37.74%, the Dominican Republic 14.13%, and Peru 0.85% ", reported Proceso.hn.

Latin American Coffee Exports Increase by 14%

The combined exports of the 9 Latin American countries have increased by 14.6% in the first ten months of the current crop.

The combined exports of Colombia, The Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru, between October 2010 and July 2011 totaled 23,133,366 60 kilo bags, which is 14.6% higher than in the same period of the previous crop, according to a report by the National Coffee Association (Anacafe).

11.82% Increase in Latin American coffee Exports

During the past eleven months of this harvest, the combined exports of the group of 9 Latin American countries, not including Brazil, rose by 11.82%.

The total exports from Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru and the Dominican Republic, between October 2010 and August 2011 was 24,652,694 bags of 60 kilos each, according to data from the National Coffee Association of Guatemala (ANACAFE).

Central American Coffee Exports Bounce Back

In the first 5 months of the current harvest, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador exported more coffee than the same period of the previous harvest.

In the same period, the combined exports of Latin America’s 9 coffee exporting countries dropped 15%.

Honduras reported the largest increase, at 51.74%, followed by Guatemala (10.53%), Nicaragua (10.53%), and El Salvador (3.92%).

Latin American Coffee Exports Grow

Guatemala and Mexico are the only countries in the region to have reduced their foreign sales in the current coffee year.

El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, Colombia and Peru together increased by 17.7% sales in exported coffee beans in the current coffee year, which began in October 2010.
