Honduras Tenders Construction of Transmission Lines

The National Electric Power Company is preparing a bid for the repair and construction of electric transmission lines for $400 million.

The announcement was made by the deputy of the state, Leonardo Deras, who added that the specifications also include the construction of additional substations in the country.

La Tribuna, on its website, quoted the executive as saying, "We are ready to release tenders for the construction of high voltage transmission lines in the three places that have been declared emergency areas, and the installation of power transformers in Tegucigalpa that will allow higher availability and reliability of the network ... we have prepared a package worth about $400 million for the construction of transmission lines, worth 230,000, and the expansion of approximately three new substations nationwide with preference being shown to places that have been declared in emergency. "
