Honduras to Host Conference Organizers Assembly

Under the theme "New trends in the conference industry: the challenge of finding opportunity in changing markets," the event will take place in the city of San Pedro Sula, according to the National Chamber of Tourism of Honduras (Canaturh).

The meeting ... "... aims to create a space for analysis, updating knowledge and identifying business opportunities for professionals who make up the market of congresses, meetings and events in Latin America," reports La Tribuna on its website .

As part of the activities ExpoMeeting COCAL 2012 is being held (a fair promoting products and services for the sector).

Some 250 businesspeople dedicated to the planning of conventions will participate in the meeting in San José from the 10th to the 14th of March.

Adn.es publishes: "Leonel Bonilla, President of the Asociación de Organizadores Profesionales de Congresos y Afines de Costa Rica (ADOCA), affirmed, 'this assembly brings great benefits to the country; it represents the largest showcase in Latin America for the exposure of the area as a headquarters destination for conventions and related events.'"

Panama: European group to buy Congrexpo

Congrexpo, which is dedicated to planning, organizing and carrying out congresses, was purchased by the European group Congrex Holding.

The acquisition includes Congrexpo International which is based in Panama and Congrex Costa Rica, reported the president of the company, Diego Fernandez de Cordoba, who preferred not to give more details about the amount of the transaction.
