How to Improve Design at all Levels

Guatemalan exporters will discuss best practices to increase their competitiveness.

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

The Exporters Association of Guatemala (Agexport), together with the Spanish company Barcelona Design Centre, will give talks to businessmen, which will provide advice on improving designs in each of the processes and production levels.

This will enable companies to stand out better in a world of increasingly competitive business, where the details of how processes are designed are vital.

Poly Calvillo, director of Agexport’s School of Business, said in an article in Prensalibre.com "the agency has signed a cooperation agreement with the Barcelona Design Centre, to strengthen small and medium sized companies in the design of their products and services.

The agreement states that the Barcelona Design Centre will transfer its experience, expertise and methodologies to be used as a tool to strengthen the local business sector.
Calvillo reported that Roig and his team, after a diagnosis of the situation, will formulate a plan with multiple strategies to be followed at national level. According to Calvillo, companies who take the importance of design into account will be added gradually to the project. "
