Industrial Firm Opens Plant in Costa Rica

Okay Industries Inc., which produces medical equipment, automotive and industrial parts, will be established in the industrial park in Alajuela.

From next February, the company producing medical equipment, automotive and industrial parts is to open a plant in the industrial park Inversiones Zeta S. A, in Alajuela, reports ElFinancierocr.com.

The facility will have an area of 1,300 m 2. The decision was made as part of the expansion of Okay Industries Inc. in its centenary of existence.

The U.S. subsidiary of a Japanese manufacturer of devices for neurovascular interventions has announced it will open a plant in Costa Rica.

A press release states:

MicroVention, Inc., a leader in developing, manufacturing and marketing of devices for neurovascular interventions, announced today it will open its first plant outside the United States in the Free Zone Coyol of Alajuela in Costa Rica.

ATEK Medical Inaugurates Plant in Costa Rica

The plant produces medical cardiovascular applications equipment and currently employs 65 people.

The facility is located 14 kilometers north of San Jose in the Metro Free Trade Zone in Heredia and has 3,000 square feet of space.

In a press release, the company, a subsidiary of ATEK Companies, a U.S. manufacturing consortium in several industries, has announced plans to employ 150 or more people in the future.

Costa Rica Inaugurates Medical Device Factory

The multinational company Covidien has opened a $50 million plant, which will produce supplies for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

With an investment of approximately $50 million, the medical products manufacturer Covidien has inaugurated its new medical manufacturing facility in Alajuela on Thursday, which occupies 18,000 m2 in the Coyol Free Zone and will create 350 new jobs.
