A press release from the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia reads:
In a ceremonial event held in Bogota, Procafecol S.A. and the company 'JV Panama S.A'., signed an agreement granting the first international franchise for Juan Valdez ® coffee, giving free rein to develop the brand in Panama and Aruba.
In this way, a new phase has begun in the process of expanding the Juan Valdez ® coffee brand in the international market, supported by a strategic partner who will met the requirements and standards required by the brand, which are considered as, among other factors, experience, capital and market knowledge to enter these new territories and expand the consumption of a premium coffee brand associated with Colombian coffee.
"The development of this first Juan Valdez ® franchise at international level complements our national franchising strategy and confirms that it is an attractive business model, complete and standardized, and one that we believe, in the hands of an experienced partner, has the potential to grow and continue the profitable and sustainable expansion line that the company has as its strategic plan", said Hernan Mendez Bages, President of Procafecol S.A.
