Jumeirah Will Administer Hotel in Panama

Hotel managing company Jumeirah, based in Dubai, will administer a hotel located in the main tower of project 'Los Faros'.

The agreement was signed by Julio Noval García, president of project developer Grupo Mall, and Gerald Lawless, president of Jumeirah Group.

"Hotel Jumeirah Los Faros de Panamá will feature 400 luxury rooms and suits, a Talise spa, sporting and recreational facilities, and 3.000 square meters with conference and meeting rooms", reported Laestrella.com.pa.

A Spanish court declared the company Inmoptions to be insolvent; Inmoptions is commercializing arm of Grupo Mall, developer of real estate project “Los Faros”.

The ruling was a result of a claim filed by Grupo Barceló, to whom Inmoptions allegedly owes over $3 million.

In a press release, Inmoptions stated that it has appealed the ruling, and that it will present the necessary warranties to pay its debtors.

$40 million for luxury hotel in Panama

The Nations Hotel, designed by Musa Asvat, will be 26 floors high and will be located between Street 51 and Street 50.

It will be marketed as a condo-hotel with prices starting at 139,000 dollars. Construction is slated to start in November or December and the Hotel should open its doors in 2001.

The 200 room hotel will be developed in partnership with Westin Panama and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

The construction of the new accommodation has already begun in the "Costa del Este" area of the Panamanian capital and is expected to finish by the end of 2012.

"Osvaldo Librizzi, Starwood president for Latin America, said that Westin Panama combined with Westin Playa Bonita will enable larger groups to be brought to Panama," reports Pa-digital.com.pa.

Nicaragua: Guacalito to Generate Around 10,000 Jobs

Grupo Pellas has estimated that this will be the number of jobs generated once the project becomes operational.

The Guacalito Tourism Project, which is being developed by the Pellas Group on Nicaragua’s Pacific beaches will be inaugurated at the end of next year, company representatives announced.
