Manpower Opens 1,200 Positions in Call Center

The recruitment company needs 1,200 people with fluent English to work in customer service positions in a Costa Rican call center.

"We are pleased with the positive signs shown by our market for creating new jobs", commented Julio Méndez, head of Manpower Costa Rica. He was explaining that the 1,200 new posts strengthen the trend indicated in the third quarter results of its survey of employment expectations. According to the results, 24% of Costa Rican businesses are optimistic about their plans to hire more staff in the coming months.

The positions are open to those with 100% command of both written and oral English.

Amazon, the leader in the sale of good over the Internet, will open its first customer service center in Latin America at the end of November in Heredia, Costa Rica.

Alejandro Filloy, country manager, said that by December they hope to have employed some 700 Costa Rican who are fluent in English to attend to the queries of online Amazon buyers.

Sykes to Open New Call Center in Costa Rica

The multinational has operated in the country since 1999; it is now planning its third facility.

President Charles Sykes, remarked that at least 500 people will be hired for the upcoming call center.

Costa Rica: Call Centers Open 600 Positions

The companies Stream, AEGIS, Amadeus, the ICT Group, and ACE are looking for 600 people with high levels of English and immediate availability.

The call center Stream, which has the most vacancies, will hire 350 people. AEGIS seeks 20 new team members for the service area of customer service.

For the second quarter of 2010, Guatemalan employers are optimistic, and those in Panama and Costa Rica are very optimistic.
