On Thursday October 20th an agreement was signed to establish in the country the Microsoft Center for Innovation and Technology in Tourism (CMITT) to be regional in scope.
The Balearic Government representative explained to the Panamanian leader that this center will make available technology platforms, solutions and the latest tools from Microsoft to help the growth of the tourism sector in the country and throughout Latin America.
The establishment of this center is part of the agreement signed by the government and Microsoft last April in Mexico, during the Government Leaders Forum in Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by the renowned international company.
This new innovation and technology center will be established in the City of Knowledge, its facilities will be provided by the National Institute of Vocational Training for Human Development (INADHE) and operated by the National Authority for Government Innovation.
Panama will be the second country to have this type of facility in the world. Only Palma de Mallorca devoted a center to the creation of specific software for the tourism industry and now Panama is the second country to have it.

The second of its kind to be tendered in Panama, the training centre is designed to train technical personnel in various disciplines.
Like the previous centre put out for tender, this centre aims to meet the need for trained staff required by multinationals operating in the Panama Pacific Special Economic Area.
