During recent participation in Mexico’s Food Fair, six companies were able to do business with the Aztec nation, including Agropecuaria de Exportaciones, Parmalat Centroamérica and Cafetalera Castellón.
"This group of companies managed to purchase orders for six million dollars in products such as coffee, cocoa, cookies, fresh fish, cocoa liqueur, dairy products and juices", noted an article in Laprensa.com.ni
William Jacoby, vice president of the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN), commented that with these initiatives they hope to achieve exports of about $2,000 million in the year 2011.

The Second International Investment, Industry and Trade fair will take place between August 26 and 28.
It is organized by the Nicaraguan Commerce Chamber (Caconic), who expects the participation of 100 businessmen from the U.S., Mexico, Central America and Asia.

The country plans to increase by 42% its participation in foreign trade fairs for 2011.
Roberto Brenes, general manager of the Center for Exports and Investment in Nicaragua, said they will have cooperation from the Enterprise and Employment Program of USAID.
The manager told El Nuevo Diario, "This year we went to seven trade fairs, but next year we will add three more, which will make 10 fairs or more for the year, adding new markets (besides Central America, United States Europe) in Venezuela and Ecuador."

30 new purchasers, mainly from Europe, U.S. and C.A., will participate in Nicaragua's ExpoApen.
The Ninth ExpoApen fair starts next Saturday, together with the First Regional Congress on Traceability and Good Practices.
"Last year, this fair generated business for $26.3 million, $10 million more than the 2007 edition", reported local newspaper La Prensa.
