Nestle Boosts Milk Production in Panama

With a program of incentives for small producers, Nestlé is trying to stimulate productivity of its 3,500 suppliers, in order to increase milk production.

The company processes the raw material at its site in Nata, Cocle Province with which it then supplies to Central America.

"This is how a small team of producers sustains the multinational operation, which is currently trying to encourage the production of milk with a development program consisting of loans to farmers, according to their needs.

These loans are used for projects to improve pastures and construction of infrastructure, among other things", reported Prensa.com

The plant produces a total of 25,000 tons of finished dairy products (66% evaporated milk, 16%, cheese 13% milk powder and the rest in lower-volume products).
