Netherlands Finances Business Projects in Nicaragua

The Netherlands will donate money for business projects; it aims to foster alliances between domestic and foreign entrepreneurs.

The required investment for each project must range between $400.000 and $2 million, and the Dutch government would donate half of the resources.

INDE, the Nicaraguan Development Institute will be responsible for executing the initiative. Business projects must be forwarded to INDE, and if approved, the Netherlands will donate 50% of the necessary resources to develop them.

Inge Thulin, vice president of International Operations, explained that Guatemala, together with Latin America, remains one of the company's top markets.

He told Sigloxxi.com: "Our objective is to growth 2.5 times as fast as the local economy; that is, if Guatemala grows 1.5% in a year, we must grow 3.7%, or else we will be stagnating".

U.S. Asks Nicaragua To Improve Business Climate

In order to receive more foreign investment and take advantage of the benefits introduced by DR-CAFTA, Nicaragua must improve its business climate.

This was the message conveyed by Walter Bastian, U.S. Commerce Sub secretary, who remarked that Nicaraguan exports to the U.S. have increased 37% in the four years of DR-CAFTA, going from $500 million to $1.39 billion in 2009.

Mesoamerican Business Meeting

The 1st. Mesoamerican Business Meeting will be held from 4 to 7 of October, 2011 at the World Trade Center in Mexico City.

The meeting aims to promote trade among the participants, by gathering together in one place a diverse cross section of buyers and sellers of the region’s products.
