New Global Trade Data

The World Trade Organization has released statistics on Tariffs and Trade in 2010.

The document, which is produced every year by the entity, provides a comprehensive overview of the state of world trade and key statistics, information that is useful for making business decisions in the region.

The WTO makes this information available to anyone who wants to see it. The data can be downloaded from the website www.wto.org / statistics.

A statement released by the organization notes: "this set of information consists of the 2011 edition of the annual publications of international trade statistics, business profiles and world tariff profiles, and an update of the WTO’s statistical database as well as other data sources. "

The Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Trade is promoting foreign trade agendas with leaders of more than 10 countries.

A Press Release by the Ministry of Foreign Trade (Comex) reads:

In preparation for the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization(WTO) which starts this Thursday afternoon in Geneva, the Costa Rican Minister of Foreign Trade, Anabel Gonzalez, the Director General, Federico Valerio, and the Ambassador of Costa Rica in the WTO, Ronald Saborio, maintain an intense schedule that includes bilateral meetings with ministers of different countries participating in the Cairns Group Ministerial Meeting, and the tenth anniversary of the accession of China to the WTO.

The IMF published a series of selected macroeconomic data and raw material prices by country and region, with a two year projection, as part of the statistical appendix to the biannual report on global economic prospects.
