Nicaragua: $12 Million for Crime Lab

The construction of a Central Crime Laboratory is to go out to tender.

The project was announced by Carlos Palacios, subdirector general of the Nicaraguan Police Force, speaking at the third international Forensic Criminal Science Conference.

"It will be one of the most modern and complete labs in Central America with state-of-the-art equipment designed in collaboration Nicaragua's partners such as the European Union (EU)," he said, according to EFE. He revealed no details on dates for the beginning of construction or operation of the facility.
