Nicaragua Makes Changes to Tax Contributors Register

This date marks the coming into force of the new regulation to which all of Nicaragua's largest contributors need to comply.

"The process for remaining tax payers will begin on the same date but in the mean time they will continue using the 10 digit number," reports El Nuevo Diario.

Guatemala: 32 thousand new companies in 2008

The number of new companies and individual businessmen registered dropped 6% compared to 2007.

Prensalibre.com reports that "according to data from the Business Registry as of December 30 there were 5,490 new local companies registered (11% higher than in 2007).

Vice minister of Economy, Erasmo Velasquez, said that the number of yearly registrations shows an interest by Guatemalans to become independent and create their own small and medium companies, both for production and services.

El Salvador: Delays in Company Registration

A 75% increase in applications for company registration has generated delays of up to one month in the delivery of commercial enrolment documents in El Salvador.

An article in Elmundo.com by Sury Velasco, reports that "In the first five months of 2011, the National Records Center (Centro Nacional de Registros - CNR) reported a 75% increase in requests for applications for the formalization of businesses, which has led to registration papers being issued up to a month late. The demand for applications has exceeded the response capacity of the CNR, leading to the opening of new jobs in the Trade Registry Office in 2012."

Registry of Honduran Exporters Launched

The ninth edition of the directory has over 1,000 exporting companies from more than 20 sectors.

The Registry of Exporters, prepared by the Investment and Development Fund (FIDE) also contains information relevant to the export sector or to potential investors such as investment laws and statistics, among others, in addition to the list of companies.

The FOGUAVI, promotes every year a program of registration and classification of development companies in order to evaluating and reclassify them so that they can join the Banco de Empresas Profesionales (Bank for Business Professionals).
