Nicaragua Ready to Export Energy

In 2012, Nicaragua will be able to export electricity to Central American countries whose networks have the capacity to take 300 megawatts of power.

The two sections that have been completed will be energized at the end of next year, said Salvador Mansell, CEO of the National Electric Transmission Company, Enatrel.

By the same date it is expected that sections in the other countries will have been completed, so energy can start to be transferred through the network, which runs through Central America from Guatemala to Panama.
