Panama: 5,000 Houses to be Built

The Ministry of Housing has announced the construction in the coming years, of 5,000 houses in the Province of Colón aimed to address the housing deficit.

"For over 20 years this province has been facing a severe shortage of homes, which is why the Government is currently developing the following housing the projects: Manuel Castillo, with 500 apartment units, Nuevo Arco Iris and La Victoria, with about 350 houses, and Senior Buena Vista, with 300, plus about 200 homes in Portobelo. "

An article in Prensa.com quotes the Vice Minister of Miviot, Jaime Ford, as saying ‘we are aware of the housing situation in Colón and therefore not only government but also private companies are investing in the housing sector, which is why we have a project to build 5,000 houses ... '

Panama: $3.5 Million for Social Housing

February 2010

The Housing Ministry announced it will build homes in the Province of Coclé.

Minister Carlos Duboy explained that the projects will be carried out in La Pintada and Aguadulce.

“They include 200 ‘floor and roof’ solutions, 50 Parvis, and residences with included infrastructure in state and municipal terrains in La Pintada, Farallón de Antón and Barrios Unidos de Aguadulce”, reported prensa.com.
