Panama: Call Center License Granted

The Public Utilities Authority has granted the company FAKEMY a concession to provide call center services for commercial use.

A resolution by the National Authority of Public Services (ASEP) states that the concession awarded to FAKEMY SA “allows a person or entity located in the Republic of Panama, to provide customers and business users located in Panama or abroad, assistance related to: the supply and trade or technical information about products or services, order taking, complaints handling, reservations and / or confirmations, account balances, telemarketing, sales promotion and
products or services, among other things.

Any amendment to the concession area shall be authorized by the National Authority of Public Services.

This lease has a term of twenty (20) years renewable for up to twenty (20) years, counted from the date it is rendered by this resolution.”

El Salvador: Netcord Communications Opens Call Center

With an investment between $300,000 and $500,000, the company is starting off with 60 employees and it hopes to grow by 50 more each month.

The Call Center, located in San Salvador, will provide services to a publicity company in the United States.

Ronald Ramagoza, president of the company, indicated that they hope to grow by up to 600 positions by the end of the year, and they have contracted consultation from the El Salvador Agency of Promotion and Investment (Proesa).

U.S. Companies Analyze Investing in Honduras

Representatives from call center and outsourcing companies told president Porfirio Lobo their intention of investing in the country.

Executives from Ovum, Arledge Company and Harts Group met with Grupo Karim's, the administrator of Altia Business Park.

"These companies operate in the call center industry, server support, back office services, telemarketing and providing operation centers for regional corporations", explained an article in Proceso Digital.
