The facility will be located in the area of Las Mañanitas, near Tocumen International Airport, and will have capacity for 900 40 foot containers.
Pa-digital.com.pa reports that, "the new center aims to attract 60% of its customers locally and the remaining 40% from companies needing to distribute chilled merchandise via Panama to other parts of the world".
Once operational the facility will create 150 new jobs.

After six years of operation in the country, the company has ventured into the area of refrigerated logistics, said Emilio Fantozzi, general manager of Ransa.
"This new logistics management will allow the company to enter a high demand market and address the existing logistics services for perishable foods.

The Brazilian company Galores Logistics will build five distribution centers in Panama, with an investment of $30 million.
The general director of Galores Logistics, Rafael Rocha, told Pa-digital.com.pa that "the refrigeration technology that will be introduced to the market will allow the company to provide a complete service with storage warehouses, refrigerated trucks, product packing and shipping," and that the company "will focus its attention on non-traditional fruit and vegetables, livestock, poultry and seafood product exports, among others."
